SCOPE Skills Website Design
Project: SCOPE Skills required a multilingual website to host their online learning platform website
My Role: I was responsible for the entire project from start to completion.
Project Summary
Tile Rooms existing website was dated and didn't reflect their brand and quality of work. They have a high-quality showroom with a full range of products and this wasn't being conveyed on the existing website. As a result, they also were not getting a regular stream of bookings for consultations at the showroom.
Goals
- Create a fully responsive modern website for SCOPE Skills
- Integrate multilingual content across 5 languages with Geo Location detection to direct the user to the correct section of the website
- Integrate content from online learning platform
Process
The SCOPE Skills website was built with usability and accessibility in mind. A clean and simple interface with clear navigation available across 5 different languages. A language selector in the main navigation allows the user to select the language of their preference but for added usability geolocation detection was integrated into the website to detect the user's location based on IP and browser language settings and by default present them with the most appropriate version of the website UI and content in their native language.
In the website backend, translations can be applied so the client can add additional content through the CMS and assign it to each of the languages. Additional languages can also be added if the client requires to expand the website to other countries.
To integrate the online learning content modules were hosted on the website server and embedded into the website. Again modules were linked up by their language so that these were integrated into whichever geolocation-based version of the website the user was looking at.
Results and Outcomes
The website has been very successful and is currently being used across 6 countries providing website content and modules in 5 languages.
