Project: A full redesign of the Find A Venue with Stripe Integration for online payments and SalesForce integration.

My Role: I was responsible for the entire project from start to completion.

Project Summary

Find A Venue wanted a new website to showcase their venue finding service. The website had a number of key features and integrations which needed to be included:

  • Payment Integration with Stripe.
  • Detailed booking enquiry form.
  • Enquiry form integration with Salesforce CRM.
  • Venue section with filter by event type based on custom taxonomy and custom post types.

Goals

  • Create a fully responsive modern website to showcase the service offered by Find A Venue.
  • Creating a venue custom post type with custom taxonomy for event types to allow filtering.
  • Ability to accept payments via Stripe.
  • Create a detailed booking enquiry form linked to Salesforce to import enquiries on submission of the form and to create a new lead in the CRM which can then be used to manage the leads.

Process

Wireframe

An initial wireframe was created for the homepage to look at the UX and UI design of the website and focus on the key areas to which the homepage would lead. The main service of Find A Venue is venue finding however they also were branching into providing entertainment for events and during the pandemic had pivoted to do virtual events so these along with the venue finding service gave 3 core areas to present to the user. A section with types of venues would focus on the various different options available while strong Call To Actions would prompt the user to book their event which would lead to the enquiry form capturing their information and sending it to Salesforce.

Each type of venue was given its own page to highlight the types of party or events that could take place in these venues. High quality photos were important to show the venues and options available.

For the venue directory a filterable list of venues was added. This involved creating a custom post type within WordPress for venues and then adding custom taxonomy to add categories that each venue would be suitable for such as corporate events, conferences, birthday parties etc. Adding a filter then linked to these taxonomy allows the user to filter the venues on the front end.

The enquiry form captured a lot of information about the customer and their event. This form stored this information in the database but also was integrated with Salesforce. Each submission created a new lead and fields on the form were matched up with Salesforce variables to add the information the user had filled out about their event to the lead in the CRM.

Lastly Stripe was integrated to allow customers to pay invoices. An SSL certificate was added to manage secure payments card.

Results and Outcomes

The new website has seen traffic increase by almost 200% on average per month with the improvements made to the website UX and UI as well as a lot of work done on improving the SEO. This involved improving the existing content and also adding additional pages for new venue types targeting specific keywords. Integration with Salesforce has made the process of managing enquiries and processing leads much more streamlined and the conversion rates have increased substantially as a result.
